Freshly Brewed Projects: For the Guys

The inspiration for this Freshly Brewed Project is ….

For the Guys

Creating cards for the guys can be a little harder to make than any other type of card. If you are like me you are always looking for some inspiration. The two cards that I’m sharing with you today are a couple that I created for my Family Fun class this month that happens to be themed “It’s a Guy Thing”.

For this card I used the Whiskey Business Stamp set, Tuxedo Black Memento ink, Wink of Stella, Stitched so Sweetly Dies, Cinnamon Cider Blends, Cinnamon Cider Ink, Basket Weave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack, Dainty Diamonds 3D embossing folder, Brushed Metallic 12 x 12 Card stock, and Very Vanilla Card Stock.

  • Stamp image onto a scrap piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock and colour with Cinnamon Cider Blends.
  • Add some sparkle to the bottle with Wink of Stella.
  • Fussy cut out the bottle and adhere with dimensionals to a piece of vanilla card stock that has been cut out with one of the rectangle dies.
  • Stamp sentiment in Cinnamon Cider Ink
  • Adhere a piece of the copper metallic ribbon at the bottom of the vanilla rectangle
  • Adhere with dimensionals to a piece of cooper Brushed metallic Card stock cut out with a larger rectangle from the die set.
  • Emboss a piece of Very Vanilla (cut at 14cm x 9.5cm) with the Dainty Diamond 3D embossing folder.
  • Adhere the embossed card to a Very Vanilla card base.
  • Attach your rectangle piece to your card.

For my second card I used the Game On stamp set, Real Red Ink & Card, Basic Black card & Stampin Write Marker, Whisper White Card Stock, Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, Classic Label Punch, Foam Adhesive Strips, mini dimensionals, 5 cent pieces, and Basic Rhinestone jewels.

This card is actually a spinner card and is a little hard to photograph so I have made a quick YouTube video to see how it is made.

  • On a piece of Whisper White Card stock (cut 14cm x 9.5cm) stamp the card images in Real Red Ink at the top and the Sentiment in Black at the bottom.
  • Taking the classic label punch insert your stamped card in as far as you can lining up the edge of your card with the edge of the punch.
  • Once you have punched, move it along and keep punching until you get the the other side. Make sure you do not go any further than where the card edge lines up with the punch edge.
  • It is important to keep this punch as straight as possible so that your spinning mechanism works properly.
  • Taking two 5 cent pieces, place one under the punched slot and adhere the second one one top with a mini dimensional. This is your spinner.
  • Punch or die cut a circle from black card stock to cover up the 5 cent piece.
  • On a scrap piece of whisper white card stock stamp the dice image and colour the dots with a black Stampin’ Write marker.
  • Fussy cut out the dice and adhere onto of the black circle.
  • To adhere the card front onto your card use foam adhesive strips so that your spinner has room to move and won’t get caught.
  • Embellish with some rhinestone jewels.

  1. Thanks for the inspiration Deb. I don’t have either of those sets, and now your cards are making me think again. Great colours and slider cards are always fun.
